Question:

Hi Celia, It was nice to meet you earlier today. After looking at your website I can only apologise for remembering you in the borrowers when you have done so much. It must be the fact that I have three children who watched it many times. My husband will carry your bags up the stairs anytime. Can't wait for the new production. Kind regards

Answer:

Your husband really saved the day for me as I am currently suffering from a very bad back.  As to the Borrowers, perhaps your children might like to graduate to Nanny McPhee.

Question:

Hi Celia - I am a great fan and saw you over Xmas in a TV Panto on Paul O'grady show. I fell in love with the wonderful feather head piece you had on in your role as wicked witch. Do you have any idea where it was supplied from? I am playing locally in Panto in March and I would love to wear similar. Regards, Angela Hicks

Answer:

It was made especially for me, I''m afraid...  and according to Paul took up most of the budget of the show!

Question:

Hello from the US! I don't really have a question. I just wanted to say that I think you are fantastic and with the utmost sincerity, you are my Helen of Troy. :-) Have a beautiful day. @->---

Answer:

Uhoh - you didn''t have to sell your soul to the Devil did you?  I am hoping to be in the States over the summer - perhaps I''ll see you there.

Question:

Hi Celia, I have actually discovered 3 days ago that you exist on this planet! I know, shame on me! I’ve just seen Acorn Antiques (what could be found on youtube) and I find it absolutely hilarious! Made my day ... or night... whatever... These comedy roles suite you ...the hell good! (or maybe that’s the only thing my brain cells can absorb after a long working day, so I am being subjective... well, who cares anyway... :)) Is there any chance you’ll be performing something sometime soon somewhere in continental Europe? Anywhere?

Answer:

I like your style!  Due the the language barrier I won''t be on continental Europe in performance.  (I did tour Italy with the Citizens Theatre in those glorious days when theatre was blooming)   However I will soon be appearing in a new pay at the Donmar in London - but it ain''t a comedy!

Question:

Dear Ms. Imrie: I, too am descended from the Imries and was wondering if you could fill in any gaps in my family research? The first mention in Scotland is of Alamric, Lombard of Flanders - possibly Huguenot. My ancestor is a Johanna Imrie of Perthshire. It has proven extremely difficult to go back further as records are few and far between. any information at all would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Answer:

You got further than me.  Although my mother''s side goes back to God, by way of Old King Cole, my father''s side only got me as far as my grandfather John Imrie living in a flat in the Gorbals in 1901.
